Recently, multiple sections of the Phase IV project of the Shanghai Zhuyuan Sewage Treatment Plant, constructed by SUMEC Complete Equipment & Engineering Co.Ltd, a subsidiary of SUMEC Group Corporation (referred to as SUMEC), have successfully started operation with water flow.
Upon completion of the Phase IV project, the total processing capacity of the entire Zhuyuan Sewage Treatment Plant will surpass that of the Bailong Port Sewage Treatment Plant, with a total daily sewage treatment capacity of 3.4 million cubic meters and an additional 500,000 cubic meters of storage capacity. The plant will serve approximately 6 million people, covering an area of 335 square kilometers, making it a leading domestic and internationally top-notch modern sewage treatment plant. Its overall processing capacity ranks first in Asia and among the top five in the world.
SUMEC has been a longstanding partner of the Shanghai Zhuyuan Sewage Treatment Plant, having previously participated in the upgrading and expansion projects of Phases II and III. In the current Phase IV project, SUMEC is the major equipment supplier and overall contracting unit with the largest scope, the most sections, the most complex technology, and the heaviest tasks. The scope of work of SUMEC Complete Equipment & Engineering includes process equipment for the 700,000-ton land section and the entire plant’s odor removal system equipment, sludge land drying treatment equipment and odor removal equipment for the 1.2 million-ton sludge section, as well as the major process equipment and integrated odor removal system equipment for the 500,000-ton storage tank section. Throughout the construction process, SUMEC Complete Equipment & Engineering adhered to the customer-centric philosophy, actively responding to the owner’s timeline requirements while maintaining a focus on goals and links. The company took the initiative to closely monitor various manufacturer facilities, supervising equipment production. In the shortest possible time, SUMEC Complete Equipment & Engineering completed deliveries, meeting the on-site construction schedule. These efforts garnered unanimous praise from the owner and participating units.
