On December 7, Yang Yongqing, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of SUMEC Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as SUMEC), led a team to Lianyungang to meet with Xing Zhengjun, Mayor of Lianyungang City, for discussions and exchanges on strengthening multi-field cooperation and reached a positive consensus. The visit and exchanges
Xing Zhengjun welcomed Yang Yongqing and his entourage to Lianyungang and briefly introduced Lianyungang’s work in coordinating epidemic prevention and control and economic and social development. He said that Lianyungang is the fulcrum city of the “Belt and Road” and the main position of Jiangsu Province to promote the high-quality development of coastal areas. It has a national petrochemical base, a world-class deep-water port and a pilot free trade area and other platform carriers. The State and the Jiangsu Provincial Party Committee and Government attach great importance to the development of Lianyungang and place great expectations on it. In recent years, Lianyungang has vigorously implemented the strategy of “establishing an industrial city, strengthening the city with industries and revitalizing the city with the port”, and the city’s comprehensive transportation hub system has been continuously improved, industrial development has made great progress, and the advantages of east-west two-way opening have become more prominent.
He pointed out that as a benchmark for foreign trade enterprises in the province, SUMEC has ranked in the forefront of the province in terms of total import and export volume for many consecutive years, with outstanding advantages in “dual chain” resources and first-class experience in enterprise operation and management, which is an important force in Jiangsu’s export-oriented economic construction. In order to help Lianyungang modernize and develop to a new level, it is hoped that SUMEC will continue to fully exploit the benefits of a central enterprise, encourage more high-quality projects to locate there, carry out deeper and broader pragmatic cooperation in trade services, offshore photovoltaic and other fields, and the two parties will cooperate to make a new progress of mutual benefit and win-win outcomes. Lianyungang City will, as always, support SUMEC to do business in Lianyungang and provide services for SUMEC’s high-quality development.
Yang Yongqing thanked Lianyungang City for its strong support for the development of SUMEC and briefly introduced the business development of SUMEC in 2022. He said that SUMEC adheres to the six new kinetic energy of “dual-circulation development, scientific and technological innovation development, brand development, digital transformation, green development, and building a competitive industrial chain and supply chain” as the starting point, deeply integrates into the domestic circulation, continues to practice the “regional integration development strategy” and “regional coordinated development strategy”, taps the potential of the domestic ultra-large-scale market, and has achieved positive results in the cooperation between the central government and the local government and serving local economic and social development.
Yang Yongqing said that Lianyungang concentrates on the development of petrochemical industry, actively promotes innovation-driven development, and has achieved a series of achievements in “establishing an industrial city, strengthening the city with industries and revitalizing the city with the port”, providing a good market environment for the development of enterprises. Lianyungang has a unique geographical location, superior port and shipping conditions, great marine resource endowment and solid industrial foundation. Under the background of the new development pattern of “dual circulation”, the two sides have compatible development concepts and broad prospects for cooperation in ecological environment governance, the development of clean energy, and the promotion of the transformation and upgrading of the equipment manufacturing industry. The investment in the construction of a fishery-solar complementary photovoltaic grid-connected power station project in Lianyungang is an important measure for SUMEC to improve the business layout of Lianyungang, and SUMEC will further accelerate the pace of project construction and strive to achieve grid-connected power generation as soon as possible. Simultaneously, SUMEC will actively use the strengths of its industrial and supply chain capabilities, establish itself in the port city, deepen its cultivation, encourage the growth of collaboration at all levels, and support Lianyungang’s high-quality economic and social progress.
Cooperation and contract signing
In the afternoon of the same day, Yang Yongqing led a team to the Lianyun District Government to hold working talks with Hua Hongming, Secretary of the Lianyun District Party Committee, and Li Zhanchao, Mayor of the district. The two sides exchanged views on comprehensively deepening government-enterprise cooperation, and agreed to establish a closer cooperative relationship, hoping to take the signing of strategic cooperation between energy companies and Lianyun District Government as an opportunity to continuously consolidate the cooperation content, promote implementation, and work together to make new contributions to the modernization of Lianyungang City.
After the meeting, a signing ceremony for strategic cooperation between the Lianyun District Government and the energy company was held. Under the witness of Yang Yongqing, Hua Hongming, Xin Zhonghua, Li Zhanchao and other leaders, Wang Jian signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Yan Liqiang, Deputy Mayor of Lianyun District, and Chen Yu, Deputy General Manager of the energy company, and Wu Congjing, Director of the Banqiao Street Office of Lianyun District, signed an investment cooperation agreement for fishery-solar complementary photovoltaic grid-connected power station. The two sides will fully integrate their respective resource advantages, cooperate in-depth in building new energy industry chains and supply chains, and formulate comprehensive energy solutions, so as to promote the innovation of green industry agglomeration and achieve green, low-carbon and high-quality development in Lianyungang.
Field trips
During his stay in Lianyungang, Yang Yongqing also led a team to Jiangsu Fangyang Group for inspection and exchange. The company is a wholly state-owned company founded and established by the People’s Government of Lianyungang, which is an important carrier for Lianyungang City to build the “Belt and Road Strategic Fulcrum”, the main body of industrial investment in the national eastern, central and western regional cooperation demonstration zone, and the main operator of various high-quality service platforms of Lianyungang Petrochemical Industrial Base. Accompanied by Xu Lingxi, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Fangyang Group, Yang Yongqing and his entourage visited Xuwei Port District, Lianyungang Petrochemical Industrial Base Industrial Wastewater Comprehensive Treatment Center, and Xuwei New District Comprehensive Energy Dispatching and Control Center.
