On November 6, the signing ceremony for SINOMACH trading delegation for the 6th China International Import Expo (CIIE) took place at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai). As a key member of SINOMACH, SUMEC has been a regular attendee of CIIE for six consecutive years, with a focus on green development, the “Belt and Road” initiative, and technology upgrades. In total, SUMEC has signed 17 projects and made purchases exceeding 2.1 billion US dollars, achieving a new breakthrough in purchasing scale. Together with global partners, SUMEC is sharing development opportunities and creating a bright future. Zhang Xiaolun, Chairman and Secretary of the Party Committee of SINOMACH, attended the signing ceremony and delivered a speech. The signing ceremony was hosted by Zhou Kaiquan, Deputy General Manager and Standing Committee member of the Party Committee of SINOMACH.
Meeting at CIIE to Connect the World
Zhang Xiaolun highlighted in his speech that President Xi Jinping made a series of significant announcements at the Third Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation, which included eight major steps to support the joint pursuit of high-quality Belt and Road cooperation, expressing confidence and hope in working together to tackle challenges and achieve modernization. On November 5, President Xi Jinping’s letter to the 6th CIIE conveyed China’s determination to accelerate the establishment of a new development pattern and further promote high-level openness, set the direction for central enterprises to fulfill their responsibilities and deepen mutually beneficial and win-win cooperation with countries worldwide.

Strengthening Green Commitments, Fostering Low-Carbon Development
SUMEC has inked a framework purchase agreement with Germany’s Rolls-Royce for the fifth consecutive year, acquiring engines and generator sets to offer more eco-friendly power solutions for advanced manufacturing, data centers, and operators. By importing energy-saving environmental equipment like precise aeration systems, SUMEC is elevating the nation’s environmental standards. This supports the overall objective of building an ecological civilization in China, promoting green and low-carbon production and lifestyle.
Deepening Win-win Scenario, Jointly Implementing the “Belt and Road” Initiative
SUMEC has signed Letters of Intent for Cooperation with trade promotion institutions in countries along the Belt and Road Initiative, such as South Korea and Benin. These agreements will enhance economic and trade relations with these nations, making sure that the advantages of the initiative benefit the countries and their citizens involved.
Importing High-End Equipment, Powering Industry Upgrades
SUMEC has signed an 800 million US dollar contract with Germany’s Brückner Maschinenbau to provide premium thin-film materials for private enterprises involved in manufacturing lithium batteries for new energy industries, as well as for electronic products such as high-end displays. This assists in raising the technical levels and independent innovation capabilities of domestic industries. Additionally, SUMEC has entered into a purchasing agreement with Japan’s Marubeni Corporation for lithium battery separator production equipment, boosting the production capacity of lithium battery separators and promoting the growth of green and low-carbon industries.
SUMEC has also concluded purchase agreements with Murata Machinery, Tsudakoma Corp., Andritz AG, and Dieffenbacher GMBH Maschinen-und Anlagenbau respectively for cotton spinning equipment, weaving machines, papermaking equipment, and continuous press production lines. In addition, SUMEC signed a deal with Waldrich Coburg to purchase equipment like gantry milling machines. These agreements will further aid domestic manufacturing enterprises in their transformation and upgrade.
Innovating Business Models, Introducing Bulk Commodity Raw Materials
Leveraging SUMEC‘s platform strengths and enhancing the synergy of its business units, SUMEC International Technology Co., Ltd., SUMEC Complete Equipment & Engineering Co. Ltd., and SUMEC Marine Co., Ltd. have joined forces to explore overseas expansion of iron ore resources. The innovative approach to bulk commodity trading brings in African iron ore, boosting the real economy.
