At the invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping, President Mirziyoyev of Uzbekistan paid a state visit to China from January 23 to 25, 2024. On the afternoon of January 24, President Xi Jinping held talks with Uzbek President Mirziyoyev at the Great Hall of the People. The two heads announced that China and Uzbekistan have decided to develop an all-weather strategic cooperative partnership in the new era and promote the construction of China-Uzbekistan community with a shared future from a higher starting point.

In January 2023, SUMEC-ITC signed a memorandum of understanding with Uzbek Automotive Industry Joint Stock Company and Uzbek Automotive Industry Engine Company on the export of Chinese equipment for the new energy vehicle project of Uzbek Automotive Industry Group, clarifying the intention of the two sides to further carry out export trade cooperation.

During the talks between the leaders of China and Uzbekistan, President Xi Jinping pointed out that the Chinese side is willing to expand cooperation with the Uzbek side in the entire industry chain of new energy vehicles, carry out cooperation in major projects such as photovoltaic, wind power and hydropower, and help the Uzbek side develop its green economy strategy and promote sustainable development.
