Mongolia boasts a rich variety of coal resources, including lignite, bituminous coal, and anthracite. Among them, coking coal constitutes approximately 35% of the country’s total coal reserves, offering advantages such as low sulfur content, strong binding properties, accessibility in extraction and efficiency in beneficiation. This year, SUMEC-ITC has focused on transforming and upgrading its main business in bulk commodities, emphasizing the construction of the “first mile”, “mid-mile”, and “last mile” of the supply chain. Closely monitoring shifts in the coal market, SUMEC-ITC steps up efforts to acquire primary commodity resources at home and abroad. It analyzes trends in the Mongolian coal market, expedites the progress of Mongolian coal import operations, and adjusts and supplements the domestic coal market. As a result, SUMEC-ITC has completed the first order for Mongolian coal imports. As of the end of the third quarter, SUMEC-ITC’s coal import volume has exceeded 8.5 million tons, showing a year-on-year growth of 36%.
