【The 6th CIIE News】Iran’s 1st VP hails increasing Iranian participators at China’s import expo

Iranian First Vice President Mohammad Mokhber on Saturday hailed the growth in the number of Iranian pavilions in the sixth edition of the China International Import Expo (CIIE), which is taking place in Shanghai on Nov 5-10.
Making the remarks at the airport before leaving the Iranian capital Tehran for Shanghai, Mokhber described the Iran-China relations as “strategic” and hailed the growing Tehran-Beijing relations and cooperation, according to the official news agency IRNA.
He said the number of Iranian firms participating in the expo this year increases by 20 percent compared to last year, adding the many participators would boost Iran’s overseas sales to China in the fields of technology, oil, oil-related industries, industry and mining.
Mokhber described as “favorable” and “significant” the trade balance between Iran and China and the former’s exports to the latter respectively.
Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister for Economic Diplomacy Mehdi Safari said on Saturday to IRNA that knowledge-based firms constituted 60 percent of the Iranian energy and petrochemical companies taking part in the expo, “which is indicative of the country’s strength in the oil and petrochemicals sectors as well as the fields of nanotechnology and biotechnology.”
According to IRNA, over 50 companies and 250 businessmen from Iran have participated in the expo, which is scheduled for Nov 5-10.
The CIIE this year is expected to attract guests from 154 countries, regions and international organizations. Over 3,400 exhibitors and 394,000 professional visitors have registered to attend the event, representing a full recovery to pre-pandemic levels.
