Recently, SUMEC International Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as SUMEC) and Cangzhou Mingzhu Plastic Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Cangzhou Mingzhu) successfully signed a new project agreement for the importation of lithium battery separator production equipment, in an effort to help domestic manufacturing enterprises to make the product chain more refined and high-end, and promote the expansion of the manufacturing industry towards the high-end value chain.
With the implementation of the “dual carbon” strategy and the concept of green development, the demand for new energy vehicles continues to expand. Lithium batteries are composed of four main components: the positive electrode, the negative electrode, the separator, and the electrolyte. Among them, the separator is a thin film with a microporous structure. Its performance directly affects the capacity, cycle and safety performance of the battery. It is the key inner layer component with the most technical barriers in the lithium battery industry chain and becomes the key link of lithium battery manufacturing.
Cangzhou Mingzhu is the earliest separator company in China that has passed the TS16949 certification. It has dry, wet and coated lithium-ion battery separator products and has many years of experience in plastic film processing. Its products are mostly destined for electric vehicle power batteries and energy storage. The lithium battery separator production equipment introduced by SUMEC for Cangzhou Mingzhu will be applied to its wet-process lithium-ion battery separator project with an annual production of 400 million square meters in Wuhu, expected to expand the production capacity of wet-process lithium-ion battery separator products, improve its supply capacity in the downstream new energy material market, and ease the tight supply and demand of domestic lithium-ion battery separators.
