On November 9, the online matchmaking conference of the 5th CIIE was organized by the China International Import Expo Bureau at the National Exhibition and Convention Center. Sheng Qiuping, member of the CPC Leadership Group and Vice Minister of the Ministry of Commerce, who also occupies the post of Director at the Office of the Organizing Committee of the CIIE, appeared in person and delivered a speech; Zhang Xiaolun, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of SINOMACH, was invited to attend the event online and gave a talk; Ding Hongxiang, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of SINOMACH and Head of the Trading Sub-Group, participated in the event online; Yang Yongqing, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of SUMEC, and Zhao Weilin, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and General Manager of SUMEC, attended the “cloud signing”.
Sheng Qiuping was introduced to the amazing functions of the “e-CIIE” platform. Through the cloud display platform, he experienced the VR exhibitions put on display by exhibitors ZEISS and Win Faith Trading Limited (a subsidiary of SUMEC) and was introduced to more of their exhibits as well, etc. He learned about the cloud live streaming functions of the new product launch event, and entered the cloud negotiation platform to watch the online matchmaking event between IBARMIA, a co-exhibitor brand of Win Faith Trading Limited, and its clients.
During the event, SUMEC and Brückner Maschinenbau GmbH & Co. KG held a cloud signing activity. The two companies successfully signed an “Equipment Purchase Agreement” for film stretching lines which was worth over 500 million US dollars. Sheng Qiuping and Zhang Xiaolun participated in the signing activity via teleconferencing, Yang Yongqing and Zhao Weilin signed the agreement online. Yang Yongqing expressed his heartfelt thanks to all the guests who participated in the cloud signing. Sheng Qiuping also had online interactions and exchanges with trade missions (buyers) and exhibitors.
Sheng Qiuping expressed his thoughts, stating that setting up an “e-CIIE” platform with the cooperation and support of SINOMACH and other units was a bold and brave attempt on the part of the 5th CIIE, which has achieved fruitful results. In the future, it is hoped that the China International Import Expo Bureau and its partners will continue to emancipate minds and carry out courageous explorations in order to enhance the forms of economic and trade cooperation and people-to-people exchanges, continue to organize successful online national exhibitions, further improve the promotion and application of the e-CIIE platform in other exhibition areas, continuously improve the level of digitalization and intelligence, enhance the exhibition experience, and set stage for more wonderful and efficient exhibitions.
Zhang Xiaolun was invited to deliver a speech at the meeting. He stated that SINOMACH, as a strategic partner of the 5th CIIE, has assisted in inviting companies to rent booth space for a net area of over 20,000 square meters, and invited nearly 100 of the world’s top 500 companies and leading enterprises in certain industry segments to participate in the CIIE, through which it established a good cooperation basis with China International Import Expo Bureau. This year’s CIIE launched an “e-CIIE” platform for the first time, enabling participants to exchange both online and offline information. Undoubtedly, it is the biggest highlight and hot spot at this Expo. Supported by the Ministry of Commerce and China International Import Expo Bureau, SINOMACH was honored as a partner in the construction, operation and maintenance (O&M) of the CIIE digital exhibition platform, fully credited for the responsibility of the construction, development and O&M of the “e-CIIE” platform, organically integrating online and offline exhibitions with same frequency and quality, and building a win-win ecosystem with partners to serve the construction of “Digital China”. In the past five years, SINOMACH has signed 80 import procurement contracts worth about 19.1 billion US dollars, making due contribution to the success of CIIE. In the future, SINOMACH will insist on “improving the strengths of SINOMACH and serving the needs of the country”, play a more important role, provide services with a positive attitude and spare no efforts to ensure that the CIIE manages to “scale new heights, achieve good results, and become better and better” and contribute more the construction of China’s open economy.
The “e-CIIE” platform launched by China International Import Expo Bureau with the assistance of SINOMACH is the first attempt to use sophisticated digital means to hold a business exhibition at CIIE, which is capable of providing cloud showroom, cloud news release, cloud live streaming, cloud matchmaking and cloud signing services online. As of November 8, the registered users of “e-CIIE” have exceeded 160,000, 25 exhibition platform activities have been set up, conferences and forums have been broadcast or rebroadcast with more than 60,000 viewers, and more than 100 cloud matchmaking events and 13 cloud signing events have been organized. Furthermore, a cloud venue for trade and investment matchmaking was created for expanding investment and exhibition channels and precisely matching the cooperation needs of both sides, with interested buyers and exhibitors invited to negotiate and exchange online, which was successful in promoting procurement transactions, and achieved good results.
In order to complete the service assurance task of the 5th CIIE with high quality, the participating units of our Group have set up temporary party branches to effectively fulfil the role of the party organization as a fortress, and cement the pioneering role of party members. By transforming the political advantages of the efficient party organization into the advantages of service assurance work, they comprehensively completed the platform construction, operation, guarantee and other related work with high quality, allowing local governments that could not participate in CIIE due to the COVID-19 pandemic to be present at the expo and sign contracts- an effort which was highly praised by all parties.

In the future, under the effective leadership of SINOMACH, SUMEC will actively serve the high-level opening-up strategy, make continuous efforts to conduct the “going global” and “bringing in” project, provide services for and participate in CIIE with all its strength, share new opportunities for development with domestic and foreign partners, and contribute its full strength to SINOMACH’s goal of building a world-class enterprise with global competitiveness and the world’s future of an open economy together.
